Underwear

Life's too short for bad underwear.

That's still true.
I just rediscovered this place. Will not go anywhere else for underwear (at least until I forget or run into one of those "bargains" again...).

You know it's time...

You know it's time to buy new underware when you actually jump out of them just by jumping into bed, e.g. the elastics and general material fatigue have reached the point where they can't follow your everyday moves...

Or, at least that's how I know it's time to chuck'em and get new ones! :-D

So the main reasons I like my phone is not actually that it's a decent telephone and that it's got a working camera, slick QWERTY keyboard and a sensitive touch-screen. I like it because it gives me access to other functionality over the wireless network. :-)

Worth mentioning also is that it's just the perfect size, I can fit it in my pocket and use it with one hand. There is a bundle of other useful applications I use as well, but the ones mentioned above are by far the most appreciated. :-D

Downsides? Well, it IS a tad slippery. The cover is high-shine polished plastic, hard enough to get a grip on at times. Have dropped it a few times due to this.

PS. Yes yes I know it's an old model, but you can still buy it if you hurry up. ;-)

Fancy car

It's not often I get smitten by a car, there's only been a few through the years. Starting with and remaining the number one - Saab 96 V4.

First car I could afford was a Saab 96 V4 from 1971, it was actually a month older than I was. Then I upgraded to a 1976 model and finally ended up with one from 1968. The older the better! :-)

I remember thinking Hyundai Coupe (somewhere around '00) was a neat car, but that was never serious.

Then I briefly thought about getting a Chrysler PT Cruiser but decided against it when somebody told me it was "old tech" with a fancy cover (AS IF THAT WOULD REALLY MATTER??). Think I got my last new old V4 then, the one that lives in our garage now. 8-)

Then nothing really caught my attention for a number of years, though I remember casting a glance or two at the Audi TT model however that was never serious. :-D

A few years ago a former colleague got herself a red Volvo C30 and I still think that's a really neat little thing. Wouldn't mind one at all. Only it's a bit small for two soon three kids in car-seats.

Today I took the boys out for a walk to the local shop and on the way I spotted what might just become my "new" car to evoke that smitten feeling... :-D It looked just as curvy and weird as I require to tickle my design-nerv. :-) Have a look:

Come to think of it it's actually kind of easy to spot what makes me like a car or not. Never thought about that before.

Anyways, reality has us contemplating so-called MPV's (e.g. minivan) so neither of the above cars will become more than dreams for a considerable time (yet). 8-)

Would you ever feel at home here?

I found this picture when looking for non-table alternatives for our living room, lounge area. I'm after something soft to put my feet on rather than what we have today, a table we rarely use for anything other than putting our feet on.

I felt so smart and innovative thinking up this idea, but will have to realise I'm not first with this one...

Sockerbit NY - sweet & Swedish

A candy shop selling Swedish sweets will open in Manhattan this weekend. Hah! We might have to, just might have to take a detour past this place too while we're there? :-)

If not I'll just have to settle for a fresh non-exported supply of my favourite Jelly Belly's. :-D

Saab 92

NOW I know what I'm going to start saving for... :-)

Apparently the CEO of Saab, Victor Muller has stated that it's a fond idea, even a prioritized idea of his to start manufacturing a new "retro model" Saab based on the old favorite Saab 92. Much like the "new Beetle" by Volkswagen and the "new Mini" by Mini. :-)

However - this piece of delicious news happened to appear in media just exactly on the 1st of April so I'm not going to put away a whole bundle of money. But then again... if it DOES happen, I will want to have one. I will. I really really will. ;-)

Street Christmas markets

After nearly taking the longest detour ever possible we took a right turn and asked a couple coming from that direction if we were heading the right way (we were) we finally found it - Street Christmas markets.

It was a let-down.

It was small, far from cosy, far from unique and I don't see the point in returning. Except maybe for a thick Thai-silk woven winter shawl on sale for 150 SEK...

My brief visit a few years back, when walking around Södermalm a bright sunny Sunday morning together with J & J was totally different. But then again, this time it was incredibly chilly and my expectations were probably too high. It may also be that the "original" Street actually had to shut down and move to a new location, this was a "quick fix" replacement market if I understand it correctly.

Release party outfit

Tee design front: "We will Capture you".

Tee design back: "We are the FORMS. Resistance is futile."

The front is inspired by the "new" company I work for. Starting from January 1 this year we have divided the company into "solution labs", my lab is called "Capture". The back of the t-shirt is inspired by the fact that I'm forever stuck with the old product (FORMS), being one of the few that still knows it back to front. And then a flirt with Star Trek, the BORG.
The tee and the design was selected and put together using the (much fun!) design tool at www.spreadshirt.se.

This is what I wore for the release party at work the other day. It was a costume-party with the theme "future". :-) Sadly there weren't a lot of dress up going on, most people had "forgotten" to put something special on. But there were a few bright spots, one that was either "a retiree" (or on summer vacation), another was wearing a tin foil hat (because the ozone layer will be too thin to go outside with a bare head) but despite the meager outcome on costumes it was a nice event. I got to have a glass of wine (OOOOOOH it was nice!!), a chat with long lost colleagues and more than a few laughs.

Jag fastnade för Mandarina Duck när syrran och jag var i Milano för tre och ett halvt år sedan (Norah låg i magen!). Vi gick förbi ett skyltfönster med handväskor som såg fullständigt ätbara ut och jag vet att vi hade OTROLIGT svårt att slita oss därifrån utan att köpa något med oss. Väskorna var förstås lite för dyra för ett impulsköp, och det var dessutom HELT omöjligt att välja vilken färg/modell man skulle investera i om man skulle ha köpt en (det fanns verkligen ett par starka kandidater). Lustigt/trist nog har jag aldrig sett just de modellerna och färgerna till salu på nätet. Eller, det är kanske tur det? :-D

De väskorna påminde mycket mer om ankan efter vilken de tagit sitt firmanamn (bilden nedan).


Jag undrar om det inte var beslutsångesten över dessa väskor som fick oss totalt dränkta en kväll under denna resa? Sista biten tillbaka till hotellet den dagen sprang vi genom fullständigt hällregn, hoppandes över pölar, glatt plaskande och hysteriskt skrattande eftersom vi var totalt genomblöta... Syrran med gravidmage och allt (6:e månaden)! :-D Those were the days.
