New high quality Minecraft animation creator - Blue Monkey

Kid just introduced me to this excellent producer of entertainment: Blue Monkey Animations

Ridiculously entertaining. :-) I can't help myself, just like it. Don't have time to play the game, don't even think I have a computer hardy enough to actually run the game. But still enjoy these videos. :-)

When will I get Отава Ё on Spotify??

I swear, I can not stop listening to this song! :-D
The group Отава Ё (Otava Yo) have a YouTube channel with some more songs, this one is the catchiest but there are a few more fit to go on a playlist. :-)

Good ol' times

A conversation at work today reminded me of how I used to spend the summers as a child...

I spent many, many hours with my nose buried in one of the pocket books dad had in his library. There were two categories - horror and sci-fi. :-)

I am pretty sure this is a great part of why I am who I am today! :-)

Oh, oh!

[Link to Dead Object on YouTube]

I reckon he did a fantastic job, hosting the Oscars. Can't help liking the man. :-) Especially after watching "Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" in its entirety. :-D

I kind of find this one hard to resist too:

[Link to Dead Object on YouTube]

...I just realised there's little point in linking to copyright protected material on YouTube... Well. The first link was the opening act at this year's Oscar's show. Performed by Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Kendrick, and Jack Black. Second link was from the same show - a musical number from The Lego Movie which was really awesome.

OK GO "I won't let you down" - OK!

They've done it again. :-) Dayum, they do it like nobody else. :-)

OK GO

OK GO, OK... I don't always like their music, but their music videos are awesome! :-)
Just recently found this one:

"The Writing's On The Wall"

Then tonight I stumbled over this one:

"End Love"

But the one that got me hooked once will always be "the best" I reckon, you judge for yourself:

"Here It Goes Again"
:-)

The Ice Hotel (in Jukkasjärvi) always doing it right

The Tron room!

Naturally I'd like to find a room like this were I ever to stay at the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi! A Tron themed room... :-D
However I can't seem to find this photo in their archives (e.g. photos of rooms from past seasons) so it's possible this room isn't actually real. But hey, it's nice anyway! :-)

Extraordinary tooting

Thank you internet, for reminding me of this fantastic talent. Mr Roger Whittaker.
His music entertained me, us, through my childhood. Warm, good memories all around! :-)

Honest!

Ha ha :-D Believe me, I still haven't seen this film and I fear the above trailer (from "Honest Trailers") offers a little too many spoilers. But it is funny none the less. :-D

Imdb goodness

I've just discovered another great unexpected benefit of the "view trailer" feature on Imdb.com.

I find a film I'm curious about, watch the trailer. Depending on what I started out with the list of "people who liked this film also liked..." can be long and rich and it's always difficult not to keep watching more trailers for a bit.

But I just discovered the best way ever to get a "quick fix" of "romantic" movies. :-D I generally don't pick a romantic movie when I get to watch full length ones (there are so many other genres to enjoy!). I stumbled on a romantic movie ("Dear John") and watched the trailer, then went on to another, then another and suddenly I was full and needed to see no more of it. :-D A few minutes was enough, no need to watch the whole film... X-)

Ja! Must-see.

The Lego Movie
Just have to watch this one. With or without the kids. :-)

Childrens choir

We are SO going to pep-talk our oldest son to join a choir, imagine sitting in the audience for something like this?! :-) I'd be so proud. Though honestly I'd be in tears for absolutely ANY song performed by my babies... :-)

Original song: http://youtu.be/bGOiIfih8Ls by Crystal Castles.

More from this fantastic London superstar choir, The Capital Children's Choir:
"Who Is It" by Björk - http://youtu.be/XUqexzxj8Vk"Shake It Out" by Florence + The Machine - http://youtu.be/Gj-ntawOBw4 (MY GOD the voice of that first young soloist!)
"So Long You Pretty Thing" by Spiritualized - http://youtu.be/NLyHY00D_W4"Chinese" by Lily Allen - http://youtu.be/GZjcfZ2pWtM

Fantastic feature

Imdb.com have a feature to "Watch Trailer", I enjoy that - it's like sticking your hand in a bag of lollies (without the calories) and picking just one. I get a feel for if a film is worth putting on the watch list or not, I can watch a snippet of many movies in just a few moments.

Sometimes, naturally, you get to see too much. Quite often that's the case with classical action films. Not so often with dramas thankfully.

However Imdb.com have developed this feature to now not only display the trailer of the movie you were reading about but also "People who liked Your Sister's Sister also liked..." a whole bundle of films that are "like" the one you were interested in.
What an AWESOME feature!! :-)

I was just looking into the film above and found at least five-six more movies I really would like to watch in the "People who liked..." collection!

Awesome...! :-)

Your Sister's Sister
Sunshine Cleaning
Celeste & Jesse Forever (with one of S' favorite actors)
50/50 (Seth Rogen!)
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Hope Springs
The Kids Are All Right

Captain America

We watched "Captain America: The First Avenger" last night - only backdraw with this film would be that it's overly 'american' at times. But apart from that it's a more than decent super hero story.
Big bad evil forces ("Hydra", working under the cover of WW2/the Nazi army) had to be beaten for the world to survive.

But apart from, or rather despite the 'americanism' I really enjoyed the film. It's an 'easy watch' type of film and I'd be tempted to watch it again if I was in the mood for the full storyline of "The Avengers". :-)

IMDB-link.

The Hunger Games

We watched 'The Hunger Games' the past weekend, well worth watching.
OK to watch if you have read the books, more than OK if you haven't. Naturally a film never caters to your imagination as well as a book, so that's expected.

I enjoyed it, I recommend it. :-)

Misheard Lyrics - Oh Fortuna

I adore people who do this - who has the ability to "hear" what something sounds like just like that.

Another "misheard" favorite is "Amaranth" (by Nightwish) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWd6j5rphtg

And naturally you will have to watch these videos to really get the most out of them...

Enjoy the rain

http://sonosterra.com

Play the song just below the icons/buttons, then press the appropriate button for ambient background sound. Awesome. :-)

Or why not try www.rainymood.com and listen to their choise of music of the day to the backing sound of wet wet rain.

Not that I'd rather have the sun make us feel like it's really summer right now. But I actually don't mind the rain. It's peaceful, in a way.
