Level 39 now.
Internet was acting up during the day, so I ended up doing some chores around the house instead. Would've gotten closer to 40 if it hadn't been for the dodgy package loosing connection. But there'll be time for leveling another night.
Now it's high time to hit the sack. Last week at work starts tomorrow. I'm guessing I won't be doing much game-time the coming few days... 8-)

Lazy
He he...
I said to S "I'm hungry".
He replied "So am I".
I said "OK, so I'll go down and make some blood pudding" (blodpudding, yum, Swedish specialty)
He responded "Oh nooo..." (whining)
I said "OK, so you fix dinner".
He said "Blood pudding will be OK".
Lazy!

"Damernas Värld"
I borrowed a typical Swedish ladies magazine from a colleague and it is with mixed emotions I flick my way through it at breakfast. Who on EARTH think that spending 12 000 kr on a handbag is a reasonable thing to do, to spruce up your autumn outfit? Never mind spending 5-7 000 kr on a suit? Well, maybe I'd do that if I worked in another line of business than IT (or perhaps if I had a higher level of professional ambition?), but still. There are SO many more fun and useful things you could do for 7 000 kr's... (buy new gutter pipes for the house AND have someone install them for you amongst other things).
Well well, I suppose these things works as either distraction/a possibility to dream yourself away from current reality or alternatively as a sanity check (as in: is this sane, do I agree with this?).
Then again, amongst all the ads with bright coloured assessoires and teenage models you find a few interesting articles. Like the one about the Argentinian lady who moved to Stockholm for love (and for a more stable national economy). She manufactures shoes for named Swedish designers and clothes brands as she brought her manufacturing and design education with her. She states "Swedish fashion is nothing like the fashion in Argentina" no big surprise there, but still it gives me a small amount of satisfaction to read that we Swedish women are "practical but fashionable". Heh. So our heritage in carved wooden shoes with curbits painting on them is still represented in the type of shoes we wear today. :-)
In Argentina they make two models of all the bridal shoes - one for the formal parts, near-impossible to walk and stand in but very pretty, another more comfortable one to put on when the party has become drunk enough to not notice the change... If us Swedes get married at all, we tend to have ONE pair of shoes, and they better be darn comfortable AND nice (and preferably useful on more occasions). :-)
Confirmation is a good feeling.
But now I'm upstairs again, in front of the computer - with Mando Diao's "Ode to Ochrasy" in my headphones and looking forward to chopping my way further towards level 39 in Warcraft.
..

Ding!
Made it to level 38 tonight, and half way to 39. My pony is awaiting. :-)
Was thinking of replacing my faithful tiger for a pet, but I don't think I'm ready for that yet... :-D This one's been with me from the very beginning.
Anyways, it's late again, although not as late as yesterday. I'm horribly tired so I will obey my senses and dive into bed instead of playing more.
Newly showered self will shortly meet with fresh bedlinen.

Another try.
It's not too late, I'm not too tired. I've been good and fixed a few things around the house. Haven't had dinner yet though, but that'll sort itself out.
Will play my lvl 37 Dranei hunter, it would be cool to get her a nice mount (at level 40).
See ya later! ;-)

Gaming night
Computers are funny.
Or horrible. Depending on how you look at it.
I was supposed to enjoy an undisturbed evening of World of Warcraft tonight. Planned to work a little from home to warm up (I know, I know, silliest excuse you've heard). Just needed to approve some time and fill in my own time, write some protocols and look at some stuff. Suitable to do whilst eating dinner.
But I'm too tired to do that, so instead I surf the net and read the (online) paper while I have dinner. And time flies.
And I really have to do those work-things.
Suddenly it's midnight and all I've done is look into AH (WoW) to see if I've sold something and check out pictures of Kiera Nightley (who was written about in Dagens Nyheter). No work done.
So I finally get some work done.
And now I'm so totally too tired to play. I'll only fall asleep while trying to run to the mob I am supposed to work at if I try to log on now.
And the most stupid thing is that I couldn't really do any real work (apart from the paperwork) because I don't feel like explaining why I'm writing work related emails after midnight. Not to mention why on earth I am administrating support cases at this ungodly hour...
So I think I'll head to bed instead. S is downstairs with his two mates playing a round of Civilization which seems to not end this side of the night.
Perhaps I'll play some Warcraft tomorrow?

Today is "Talk like a pirate day"
:-D
My pirate name is:
Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Restaurant Primo Ciao Ciao
I had dinner at Restaurant Primo Ciao Ciao on Scheelegatan in Stockholm the past weekend. The absolutely superb Karl Johan lasagna I had makes the restaurant worth mentioning.
Karl Johan is a common Swedish mushroom and the lasagna was rich, creamy with just perfectly al dente cooked pasta layers. It had a full taste of the mushroom and I swear the rest of the plate felt like it was just put there to accentuate the completeness of this lasagna. :-)
I would've loved to enjoy a nice red wine with this dish, but as things are I settled for a nice cellared sparkling Sprite instead... *sigh*
Anyways, an all in all comfortable restaurant, nice decor, well behaved staff and a decent menu. :-)

Sympathy pains
We've been discussing how far you can go with empathy, in particular pain related sympathy/empathy.
I've laughed more than once at S' keenness to explain that his back pains and growing tummy has everything to do with my pregnancy. But when S had one of his wisdom teeth taken out last week, the infection that turned up in one of my remaining ones was quite unwelcome. I mean, what's the point of that? Isn't that taking it a step too far? :-D
But I suspect I am totally to blame for this one myself, considering the ENORMOUS amount of candy we ate on the way to and back from Norway the week before last...
It's a vicious thing that there's a "Sweden's largest candy store" on the way out of Stockholm when heading down E18 towards Norway... all you have to look forward to is 8 hours of driving, what better way to stay awake is there than candy??
(honestly, I can think of more than a few, but candy is almost always irresistible)
